H5N1 Prevention Center Hub
The H5N1 Prevention Center Hub is a private, online global community
for avian and wildlife organizations to share best practices, on-site protocols,
and public-facing messaging for combating Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI/Bird Flu).
The Hub is a part of the H5N1 Prevention Initiative that launched in 2024,
received grants from the Hershey Company and Youth Service America in
April 2025, and continues with support from the CT Ornithology Association,
as well as crowdfunding from bird flu documentary screenings and presentations.
The Hub was founded and is managed by Jack Aronian, a One Health advocate
and documentarian, along with advisors and research scientists, Dr. Heather J. Huson
and Dr. Meghan Jensen from Cornell University.
To date, the database provides avian influenza support and resources from a community of 70 member centers across 39 US states, and global partners (UK, SUI, CAN, AUS).
The Hub functions as a support service for bird and wildlife centers’ collaboration to streamline HPAI preparedness.
