Family Ties BTS of the H5N1 Prevention Hub
My grandfather, a surgeon, amateur ornithologist, peregrine rehabiliator, and writer, passed away at the start of COVID.
He wrote the Montauk Trilogy, including the novella "Smew,"in 2006, which foretold H5N1's zoonotic infectivity.
The H5N1 Prevention Initiative is a One Health
advocacy campaign in the spirit of his legacy.
